2. Helmet comparisons - "Lazy Vs Quality"
In my opinion, the Helmet is the most noticed part of the
entire set of Armour. It's usually the first thing people
look at. Therefore, this is the part that you have spend
the most time getting right.
On my old set of Armour, the first thing anyone said about
it was "Oh, but aren't those thimbles?". And of
course, they were right! Personally, I think that was darn
right laziness. I easily changed the thimbles to real metal
aerators in minutes, and they don't cost that much. But
they do make a hell of a difference to the overall appearance
of the Helmet. Let me show you....
As you can see in the above picture....The Thimbles do
not look right....not in the least bit. For one, they are
too small. Two, they are the wrong shape, and three....they
LOOK like thimbles! ;-)
As I said earlier though, they can be replaced with the
aerators that are very similar to the pieces used in the
film (not sure if they were aerators in the movie, but this
is as close as anyone would need.)
Much better in my opinion! Unfortunately though, the right
hand aerator is not seated 100% symmetrical, as the drill
hole was not straight. Again..LAZY!
But now for the New Armour (F/X).
These are supplied in the Armour Kit, and look fantastic
compared to the Old "Thimble" Helmet.
